See a picture of Shaq and Mia About Shaquille O'Neal During his stellar career, Shaquille O'Neal (Shaq) has played in over 1,000 National Basketball Association games and logged 40,000 minutes on hardwood courts. Add in all-star games, exhibitions and practices, college basketball and Olympic competition, and Shaq has spent much of his adult life competing in a physically demanding sport— one in which he has endured his fair shares of aches, pains, strains and sprains. Despite nagging injuries, Shaq has continued to dominate at his position, where he frequently draws aggressive double coverage from his opponents. He helped lead the Los Angeles Lakers to three consecutive NBA titles and has earned nine All-Star selections. No wonder he was honored in 1996 as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. In addition to his great athletic prowess on the court, Shaq is also a devoted husband and father raising three sons and two daughters. In the midst of these pursuits, Shaq also found time to complete his bachelor's degree in business. Considering all of his accomplishments, one gets the idea that there's no stopping Shaq whether it's on the court— or off of it. |
